2010 RUMC Softball
We Are The Champions!!
On Sunday Aug. 29 at Somerville South, the RUMC Softball Team won the semi-final match against the Church of the Presentation 6 - 4 after a very well contested game. With the victory, we moved to Somerville North to play our perennial rival Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, the other semi-final victor, for the championship game. The final score of 12 - 0 in favor of RUMC gives an indication of how well our team played to become the Ridgewood Church League Champions for 2010! After many years of "runner up", it was really a wonderful time for all those who played. The trophy, game ball, and score book are on display in the sanctuary.
Many thanks to all those who have supported us, to the UMM for sponsoring the team, and to all the team members for a job well done. A special tribute to Mark Cole, both for his contributions on the diamond and his enthusiastic support of the team from the bench, following the accident which resulted in his broken leg. Mark, you were an inspiration to all of us!
